This probably won’t come as a complete surprise, but unfortunately, this
year’s Collingham Show will not be possible in its usual format,
so instead, we’re going online for THE “VIRTUAL” COLLINGHAM
SHOW.
But we can’t do it without you, so, we’d love you to take part in a
reduced number of competitions.
If you’ve got bunting left over from the VE Day celebrations, you could
use it to be part of our “Best Decorated Property” competition.
If you love gardening, we’ve got competitions to find the longest carrot or
runner bean, so get growing!
There’s cake decorating, bread making, craft creations and flower
arranging all to be done in the comfort of your own home, and submitted
online.
If photography is more your thing, our theme this year is “Every cloud
has a silver lining” maybe it’s a photo you’ve taken during “lockdown”
or maybe a photo of something you’ve seen or achieved over the past
12 months
We’re also planning a vintage vehicle/tractor run through the village to
give us something special to look forward to. We’ll have more details
nearer the time as to timings but it will certainly bring one of our major
show attractions right into the village for you to enjoy.
And how about a walking “Treasure Hunt” around the village? Open to
everyone, individuals, couples, families and friends. It’s a chance to
enjoy our lovely village and solve some cryptic clues along the way.
The date remains the same, Saturday 19th September so please pop it
in the diary.
Then on show day, this is the place to be to see all the competition
entries. This is also the place to find out if you’re a winner.
So, although we can’t hold the show in it’s usual way, we hope, our
Virtual Show, will still be a way of the local community coming together
and being part of something special.
